GoTo Malta is seeking to recruit a Chief Operations Officer who is ready to embark on a newly launched project aimed at further supporting mobility on the Maltese Islands.

The Position

GoTo Malta is seeking to recruit a Chief Operations Officer who is ready to embark on a newly launched project aimed at further supporting mobility on the Maltese Islands.

Based in Malta and reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the selected candidate will be responsible for developing a fleet optimization and market strategy. This will entail analyzing market historical data towards fleet growth, working with Malta’s Chief Executive Officer and Chief Commercial Officer to acquire new parking locations in key areas, supervising and managing vendors and fleet employees and report back findings to the Chief Executive Officer.

The chosen individual will be working with a newly set up team to develop and manage operational processes within a pre-set budget to design excellent fleet conditions and manage the process of in-fleeting and de-fleeting vehicles minimizing downtime. Part of the role will consist of negotiations and management of the vendor relationships to ensure vehicles are properly maintained, repaired and cleaned. Among other duties, s/he will be held accountable for taking decisions on vehicle repair and maintenance requirements as well as determining resale value.

The Chief Operations Officer will also be expected to prepare financial analysis for projects, suggest and support process improvement ideas and contribute to the preparation of the annual operating plan.

The Requirements

Shortlisted candidates will possess a minimum of 7 years of experience in team management, development and execution of service contracts as well as a technical background in automotive maintenance and repair.

S/he will have strong negotiation skills to deal with vendors and service contractors, organizational, analytical, leadership and financial reporting skills.

The chosen individual will need to demonstrate business acumen and IT proficiency, ability for process orientation, effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability for goal setting.
